INTRODUCING: THE GUIDELINES ENDOWMENT FUND
The GUIDELINES LEGACY FUND is an endowment fund established in 2021 to help the ministry manage its assets for the future. Monies given to the Fund are invested by the ministry to earn revenue for longer-term ministry objectives. The principal value of the fund is kept intact, while the investment earnings can be distributed for current, ongoing ministry needs. The Fund can be held permanently, allowing you to support Guidelines mission in perpetuity.
The Guidelines Board of Directors manages this fund to ensure that it is used exactly as intended. For your reference, the names of Board Members are available upon request.
Guidelines is currently supported by regular monthly and annual gifts and will continue to be, until the Legacy Fund has grown sufficiently to generate significant income. Our generous donors who helped establish the Legacy Fund continue to support the ministry through regular monthly and annual giving.
The General Fund meets current ministry needs while the Legacy Fund has been established for the future. Please consider supporting the Legacy Fund with gifts over and above your current giving. If you have any questions, please contact Tracy Van Denburg at tracy@guidelines.org or by calling 949-582-5001.
Opportunity 2
Give Appreciated Securities
Giving a gift of appreciated stocks or mutual funds, purchased over a year ago, BEFORE you sell them, is one of the most tax-efficient ways to give beyond your current cash gifts to charity. You get the charitable tax deduction on the value of the stocks and avoid all capital gains taxes while improving your cash flow.
Opportunity 3
Use Your Retirement Assets Efficiently
Individuals 72 and older may give to qualified charities directly from their retirement account. This means that the transfer from the IRA is not counted as gross income when calculating taxes. This is helpful in cases where you might be forced to take Required Minimum Distributions from your IRA but don’t necessarily want or need to do so. It’s important to speak with your financial advisor or tax professional before doing so.
Opportunity 4
Leave a Legacy
Your ministry of hope to people around the world can continue as a part of your legacy. You can do so by naming Guidelines as a beneficiary
in your will or trust. You can also name Guidelines as a beneficiary of your life insurance policies, annuities, and retirement accounts. We can assist you in the planning process if you do not currently work with qualified planner.
