The Gospel is for All
And people will come from all over the world—from east and west, north and south—to take their places in the Kingdom of God. Luke 13:29
There’s a reason that the Bible is the most translated book in the world. At 3,350 translations no other book comes anywhere close.[1]
Why has this book been of more widespread interest than any other in all of history? Here is the reason: the Bible is the story of the gospel, and the gospel is for all.
The great, overarching story of the Bible begins with God’s people, the Jews. But only 12 chapters into the first book of Genesis, God tells Abraham, “All peoples on earth will be blessed through you” (Genesis 12:3 NIV).
Woven throughout the Old and New Testaments, God continually declares his heart for blessing all peoples and all nations. He longs to reveal Himself to man (Exodus 9:18, 1 Kings 8:60), to display His glory (Isaiah 66:18), to save (Isaiah 45:22) and to receive praise from each nation in its own land (Zephaniah 2:11).
God calls “all nations,” “all peoples,” “all mankind,” “all creation,” “every creature,” and “all the world”[2] to be reconciled to Himself through His Son, Jesus.
“God our Savior,” the New Testament declares, “wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For, there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Jesus Christ. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone (1 Timothy 2:4-5).
The book of Luke declares, “And people will come from all over the world—from east and west, north and south—to take their places in the Kingdom of God (Luke 13:29).
Wherever you live, whatever language you speak, the gospel is for you.
