This, just in, from Sammy Hammork, Guidelines missionary and founder of Precious Kids Center, in Kitale, Kenya. Precious Kids serves children with disabilities to provide the support they need to learn, grow, and reach their full potential and to know the love of Jesus. Each child is cared for according to their individual needs. Additionally, PKC works to equip parents and educate the community to be more accepting and supportive of children with disabilities. Sammy Hammork is 26.
Sammy writes: Today was one of those days when I crammed in as many activities as possible. It was one of those days where I felt God’s plan in my day despite things been a bit crazy and jam packed full of adventure and lots of running around.
We headed out to an area called Kesogon. It is about an hour outside of Kitale. I had met a little girl with Down Syndrome in the area on a previous visit and wanted to check in and see how she was doing. So after saying hello, I sat down and talked to her grandmother while the rest of the children and family members listened in.
Most of her family members are alcoholics so her and the other kids are left to fend for themselves. They live next to a busy main road and Male (pronounced Mah-LAY) is not closely supervised and wanders around the area. After talking to her grandmother it became clear that she sees Male as more of a burden than a blessing. She is such sweet little girl, but they are not able or willing to give her the care she needs and deserves so we loaded her up in the car and brought her to her new home at Precious Kids Center.
The kids were thrilled and so welcoming upon her arrival. Willy took her around the house and introduced her to everyone. She was 
a little nervous at first, but quickly fit in with the rest of the group. Within no time she was smiling and playing with the other kids and walking around like she owns the place.
We then went to meet another little girl who lives in an area of town called Kipsongo. She lives with her grandmother and her mother who is only sixteen years old. Natasha is a little over a year old. She is unable to hold up her head and looks like she is just left alone to lie in the house alone all day. 
She was very malnourished and had a bad cough. Her mother agreed to take her to the hospital and get chest X-rays that the doctor recommended and we will stop by next week and see what the next step should be.
Today I thank God for bringing Male into the house, allowing me to meet little Natasha and for all of the joy and love that overflows into my life from each and every child at Precious Kids Center.
