Meet Kan Gyi Aung. Kan is 13 years old and an orphan. Kan’s life changed dramatically a year ago when he joined the “family” of Jacob and Sandar Mung and the Bethel Children’s Home in Yangoon, Myanmar. Jacob and Sandar are Guidelines missionaries who love on kids as well as pastor Bethel Church and direct Bethel Bible Institute and Christian Literature Crusade Myanmar!
Jacob tells Kan’s story:
Kan had not gone to school for the past two years when he arrived at his new home. He had a hard time, initially failing all of his school subjects. By the middle of last year, Kan had begun to show an interest in the Gospel. He applied to public school but was not admitted; he was challenged to pray to God. Kan prayed and others prayed.
The next day Kan had his final opportunity to be admitted to school. The Lord answered and he was admitted. By this time he wanted to know more about God and His gospel. A few months later Kan Gyi Aung accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.
Kan was baptized on Christmas Day 2014! Since he has been born again he has begun to study the Bible like others and pray faithfully. Kan’s spiritual growth is evident and his studies have dramatically improved. We thank God for changing lives like this young boy’s.
And, we at Guidelines thank God for Jacob and Sandar’s work in Myanmar and for Guidelines supporters who make it possible for the light of the Gospel to shine in the lives of those like Kan!
